Join the Baker Hughes Americas BRUSH Team to carry out on-site inspection, testing, and repair of stator, rotor, and exciter windings of large high voltage electric generators.

As an Americas Field Service Winding Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Performing winding inspection, electrical testing, maintenance, and repairs on generator HV windings on customer sites globally.
• Carrying out basic mechanical strip-down (and rebuild) of machines to gain access to the generator windings.
• Carrying out electrical testing on high and low voltage windings in the field.
• Carrying out visual winding inspections of the stator, rotor, and excitation system.
• Carrying out in-situ generator winding repairs including stator re-wedge work.
• Working as part of a team for on-site stator strip and rewind operations.
• Assisting mechanical service engineer(s) on assignments, which will not necessarily involve winding related activities.
• Supervising and training internal and external customers.
• Interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers' premises.
• Carrying out an on-site risk assessment on every assignment.
• Carrying out other reasonable duties as directed from time to time by the Field Service Manager

Fuel Your Passion:

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have relevant experience in winding of electrical generators.
• Have been qualified through a recognized craft apprenticeship in armature winding on large high-voltage rotating electrical machines.
• Have experience working on various model generator windings.
• Have competence in soldering, brazing, crimping, and high-voltage insulating procedures.
• Have the ability to be self-sufficient, resourceful, and an effective problem solver.
• Have strength of character and high levels of energy.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively, being fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Have the capability to undertake extensive overseas and offshore work, often for extended periods.
• Have experience representing the company at customer sites and operating remotely on own initiative while meeting required standards.

Our Americas team is growing to support the demand in the region and this includes a hub in Houston and Brazil that will support our growing demand for more Field Service Engineers.
