Control System Field Service Engineer

A Field Service Engineer will play a vital field-based role, travelling to customer sites, both onshore and offshore, across APAC region. You will provide specialist installation and maintenance support. You will perform hands-on work individually and as part of a Field Service team.

As a Field Service Engineer - Control System, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all in-field activities carried out safely complying with quality, customers' and company HSE standards and procedures.
  • Performing inspection, checks and testing of control systems and/ or electrical systems used on Baker Hughes equipment during both installation and maintenance activities.
  • Identifying issues, fault-find and problem solve to ensure smooth and timely progression of the works.
  • Involving in installations, commissioning and Start Up of turbomachinery. Planned maintenance outages and unscheduled maintenance events.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a focus on health, safety and the environment and be proactive in working within an interdependent HSE culture.
  • Have a minimum 5 years of experience in machinery control system in the oil & gas, power generation or aviation industries.
  • Have experience in machinery control system specifically in Mark VIe and or Mark Vies control system family.
  • Have significant experience of troubleshooting, maintenance, start-up and commissioning of Gas Turbines Compressor and Gas Turbine Generator equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Able to travel throughout Australia and internationally, spending up to 70%-80% of the time at site.
  • Have analytical and problem solving skills together with good interpersonal & organizational skills.
  • Have proactive mindset towards process improvement, automation and interpersonal.

In this role, you will travel to and work on customer sites across the Asia-Pacific Region in line with customer requirements. The duration of the work at site and the hours of work at the site will be in line with customer requirements.
