The Additive Technology Engineer (ATE) supports the creation, evaluation, and implementation of comprehensive end-to-end manufacturing solutions for key design features in BH products. This role ensures that manufacturing solutions meet key performance criteria including product quality, cost-efficiency, yield, capacity, schedule, and environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and improvement of additive manufacturing processes for new and existing components
- Together with the Additive Technical leader you are responsible for creating the whole process from the morphing of 3D, support strategy implementation and creation of the printing job file
- Communicate progress, issues and technical findings to cross-functional teams ensuring alignment between design requirements and manufacturing capabilities
- Be an interface between technical leader and operator of Additive manufacturing laboratory
- Identify and implement appropriate fabrication equipment and processes to meet design and operational requirements
- Participate in technical and program reviews, providing insights and recommendations for improvement
- Contribute to broader organizational initiatives and generic issues to support long-term business objectives
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma with ITS post diploma experience if possible in additive manufacturing
- 1+ years of experience with CAD and CAM tools for build preparation in support of metal 3D printed component production
- 1+ years of experience with topology optimization tools applied to metal components
- Expertise Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Experience in additive design software for manufacturability, CAD/FEM design tools, and additive manufacturing processes with a focus on turbomachinery design
- Post-processing techniques experience including milling, tumble finishing, heat treatment, and workshop operations
- Strong communication skills which enable you to provide timely updates and lead discussions on process development and technical challenges
