BAE Systems is seeking Space Operations Specialists to support a mission critical intelligence customer. Our Space Operations Specialist I provides leadership and direct support to ensure health and safety, longevity, and daily mission support to on orbit space vehicle(s). This includes space vehicle command and control, telemetry analysis, trending, orbit analysis, sensor calibrations, and anomaly resolution. This work is performed primarily in an office environment at a government site near Denver, Colorado. Some travel and local commute between BAE campuses and other possible non-BAE locations CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide space operational and vehicle engineering support as a subject matter expert for:
• Space vehicle payload and bus operations
• Space vehicle command and control
• Space vehicle telemetry trending and analysis
• Space vehicle operational planning and execution
• Space vehicle anomaly resolution
• Space vehicle operational capability assessment
• Customer working groups and reviews
• Space vehicle calibrations

• Maintain space vehicle trending software
• Understand, use, and modify MATLAB-based trending scripts
• Support models and simulations and interfacing systems
• Track and plan technical refresh hardware and software

• Develop and update:
• Reports, status updates and presentations
• Operational technical orders
• Recommended operational procedures (ROPs)
• Training materials and references
• Analysis tools (Matlab, etc)

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• Four or more years of experience in the field of space operations. Related fields will be considered if applicant has a strong background in math, science, and technical applications.
• High School diploma. Associates degree or undergraduate degree are desired but not required.
• Ability to use analysis tools (STK, Microsoft Suite, other software tools).
• Ability to maintain continuous inter-organizational and outside customer contacts within the Space Operations Community agencies and related government agencies.
• Ability to represent the customer at Space Operations Community or other meetings.

Demonstrated ability to:

• Be wholly at ease and comfortable interfacing with government customers, co-workers, and teammates within industry and the government at all levels.
• Interface effectively with people at all levels and seek out responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to the team.
• Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity, creativity, thorough research, and experience in the Space Operations Community.

Able to understand and apply knowledge, experience, and skills to the toughest tasks and problems without supervision.

Pay Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275. Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
