Product Support Engineer

The Controls and Avionis Solutions Aftermarket Operations team is looking for experienced engineers to contribute to their vision of becoming the most trusted Aftermarket service and support team in the world. The core purpose of the Product Support Engineer position is to leverage extensive technical experience, focused on product knowledge and product application, to meet internal and external customer expectations. As a Product Support Engineer, you will work as part of a cross-functional team to provide technical support to both the airline customers and the internal operations team, focusing on technical solutions to address field reliability issues.

Job responsibilities may include:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentor PTE team to establish test/troubleshoot methods and analyze test data- Support field investigations to determine root cause of event.
  • Ensure readiness for new programs transitioning into Aftermarket\\Review/approve new or changes to Maintenance Manuals and/or Service Bulletins
  • Resolve engineering configuration / hardware support issues
  • Analyze in-service data to identify need for repairs or changes in product design
  • Identify technical solutions to address reliability issues
  • Support failure analysis and product design changes
  • Attend technical customer workshops & MRO tradeshows (Prepare and present information as necessary, Understand industry and competition in order to translate into actionable strategy)
  • Provide formal technical communication in response to customer requests
  • Support Commercial Customer and/or Military Reliability Reviews by presenting to the customers on the product and Service Center performance
  • Understand cost impact of Maintenance Manuals and/or Service Bulletins to provide input to program management for catalog pricing decisions.
  • Support business analysis of Service Center in respect to cost and pricing

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship or Permanent Resident status. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree, preferably Electrical Engineering degree with 5 or more years of related experience
  • Enter FAA mandated Anti-Drug Pool. Subject to random drug testing
  • Systems knowledge of electronic engine controls and/or Flight Controls
  • Electronics systems integration knowledge and experience
  • Electronics manufacturing and test knowledge
  • Statistical control knowledge, such as Six Sigma
  • Ability to work proficiently with computer-based systems
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge and experience
  • Advanced-level Oracle, data analysis software, and MS Office user
  • Experience troubleshooting analog and/or digital electronics
  • Ability to mentor early-career engineers and team members

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Experience with FADEC (Full Authority Engine Control)
  • Masters Degree, Electrical Engineering
  • New electronic product integration experience
  • Statistical background
  • Reliability Engineering experience

Pay Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $84689 - $143994 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
