Operations Quality Engineer II

The BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems (CMS) site in York, Pennsylvania is seeking an Operations Quality Engineer II in support of 2nd Shift. In this role, you will develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring requirements are met through multiple functional areas of the ACV vehicle platform specifically including the hull fabrication process. As this position supports on the 2nd shift (2PM-11:30PM on a 9/80 schedule), you will often be working independently in defining specific tasks and priorities to support operations quality.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in a technical discipline and two (2) years related experience (i.e. Quality Assurance, Quality Control), or an Associates and four (4) years related experience, or the overall equivalent.
  • Experience operating within ISO 9001 standard.
  • Strong background in problem solving techniques (A3, DMAIC, etc).
  • Basic welding/fabrication knowledge and ability to read associated drawings.
  • Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and industry related database applications.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and analytical ability.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to support on the 2nd Shift, 2pm to 11:30pm. Please note that training will take place on the day shift for several weeks.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • ASQ Certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a quality program in support of government contracts, preferably DoD.
  • Formal training in root cause analysis is preferred.
  • Experience implementing APQP in a low-rate, technically complex product environment is preferred.
  • CWI or formal weld training preferred.
  • Ability to develop leadership skills.

Pay Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $70735 - $120250. Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
