Data Engineer with BI Focus

At Ayvens in the Netherlands, more than 1000 colleagues work with a lot of passion and fun. Also in the BI & Data Science team. The BI & Data Science team is the central point of contact within Ayvens Netherlands for all data questions from both internal and external customers. This team consists of 20 professionals with diverse backgrounds who are involved in Data Engineering, BI & Analytics, and Data Science.

What will you do?

In your role as Data Engineer with BI Focus, you will focus on the further professionalization and innovation of Ayvens’ cloud data platform. You will map the wishes and needs of the business by conducting conversations with various stakeholders. Based on this input, you will start working on compiling usable datasets that contribute to relevant and structural insights for the organization. You will focus on unlocking and modeling data so that it can be used for KPI Dashboards, Advanced Visualization, and Storytelling. By involving customers in the development process, you ensure that your solutions perfectly align with their information needs.

What will you bring?

We are looking for a Data Engineer with BI Focus. You will act as the central point for data ingestion and manage the data model in consultation with the BI specialists in the team. You will play a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining data quality and manage the data retention periods for the BI platform. Additionally, you will act as a sparring partner for the business and advise them on the use of information. You will deliver both requested and unsolicited insights. You work accurately, take responsibility, and know how to stand your ground under pressure.

• Analytical, creative, and technical with an enterprising mindset;
• HBO work and thought level with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the BI field;
• Extensive hands-on experience in the Azure Cloud Platform and specifically Azure Data Factory and DataBricks;
• Proficient in the programming languages Python and SQL;
• Knowledge of multiple tools such as Power BI, Qlikview, and Business Objects is a plus;
• Customer-oriented, accurate, and possesses good analytical and communication skills;
• Values the development and sharing of knowledge and expertise;
• We find teamwork important, so you must be able to work well in a team;
• Speaks English and Dutch at a professional level.

• Salary €4,384.00-€5,600.00 gross based on 40 hours, depending on experience.
• Variable remuneration, pension plan, smartphone, contribution to sports subscription, and discount on e-bike;
• A mobility budget in which you can choose between a lease bike, electric lease car, or public transport card. When you do not choose a lease car, a part of the budget is paid as an extra monthly income.
