Additional Information About the Role: Director Environmental Services to oversee EVS at Barnes Jewish Hospital Barnes Jewish West County Goldfarb School of Nursing and over the PCDC Center. The Director will lead and provide daily & strategic direction for Environmental Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH), Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWC), Goldfarb School of Nursing (GFSN) and jointly owned building on the academic campus. Will also provide oversight of EVS contract at PCDC. They will set long term vision and will align practices according to regulatory requirements and best practices for infection prevention. This leader will provide leadership and will make sound decisions in support of the hospitals mission. This Director will support the hospitals vision in providing the best facility for patient care, safety, service, and value.

Overview: Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows, and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is part of the Barnes-Jewish continuum of top ranked compassionate care. It is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility located at 401 Corporate Park Drive in Clayton, Missouri. Organized as a hospital-based facility, Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is under the direction of Barnes-Jewish Hospital medical staff with full support of laboratory and rehabilitation departments. Services range from minimal assistance to subacute post-hospital recovery. Our patients range from the young to the elderly as well as post-trauma rehabilitation patients and those in need of hospice or respite care. The Housekeeping Department at BJEC is responsible for delivering a clean and safe environment of care for our patients and residents.

Role Purpose

The Director will lead and provide daily & strategic direction for Environmental Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH), Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWC), Goldfarb School of Nursing (GFSN) and jointly owned building on the academic campus. Will also provide oversight of EVS contract at PCDC. Sets long term vision and aligns practices according to regulatory requirements and best practices for infection prevention. Provides leadership, makes sound decisions in support of the hospitals mission and supports the hospitals vision in providing the best facility for patient care, safety, service, and value.

Responsibilities

Manages individuals including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Develops a strategic plan for the departments and has oversight for daily operations. Establishes department dashboard to monitor KPIs and effectiveness of the cleaning programs. Ensures programs meet regulatory requirements & IP standards and that all required reporting and regulations are met.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree- Finance/Business/related

Experience: 5-10 years

Supervisor Experience: 2-5 years
