Director Of It - Global Client Services & Partner Management

The Director Of It - Global Client Services & Partner Management leads the enterprise IT support needs for the organization. This includes Service Desk, Desktop Support, client experience as well as vendor management for a global managed-services provider with primary support centers in India and other COE sites around the globe. The is based in the Phoenix, Arizona area and has reports in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. In addition to these responsibilities, this role will serve as the primary business-partner for the Americas IT functions, partnering with the leadership team for enterprise applications to ensure strategic and operational goals are met.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing information technology related activities within assigned scope of responsibility for one or more major functional areas within the information technology arena.
  • Providing high quality, cost effective, and efficient systems and service delivery to meet current and future demands.
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for improving service delivery methods and support procedures.
  • Monitoring industry trends for applicability and technology direction. Optimizing technology approaches to support company business processes and technology information systems platforms.
  • Lead and develop a global team of professionals in partnership with our product and business teams to provide world class services.
  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise infrastructure that scales with global growth including the migration to cloud services where appropriate.
  • Transform current solutions and services to a simplified service providing an intuitive, experience centric architecture, serving regional needs.
  • Develop and manage close partnership with business leaders to deliver and maintain alignment with corporate initiatives.
  • Development and implement alternatives to traditional compute services, improving and simplifying our ability to manage platforms, servers, and network components.
  • Offer "Infrastructure as a Service" to empower R&D and our services organization to focus on product development for their customer's needs.
  • Maintain a functional and strategic knowledge of current and emerging technology and product trends to anticipate new initiatives and set direction for the departmental roadmap.
  • Work with team members and business unit leadership to identify areas of opportunity and drive the implementation of intuitive solutions that demonstrate measurable improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Security and Operational standards throughout the Infrastructure and core services teams.
  • Analysis, design, creation and implementation of database configurations based on application designs and specifications

Span Of Control:

  • Provides leadership and direction through managers and senior managers. Accountable for the performance and results of a major function that has cross-organizational impact and is comprised of multiple departments and/or teams.

Policy And Strategy:

  • Establishes policies appropriate for the function. Interprets and recommends modifications to enterprise-wide policies and practices. Adapts and executes functional business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategies. Responsible for efficient utilization of significant resources within the function.

Level Of Supervision

  • Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior management and results assessed with a long-term perspective. Decisions are guided by functional strategy and priorities.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborates with senior management and others concerning matters of significance to the company. Routinely conducts briefings for senior management and/or key external contacts. Influences senior management or customers/clients.

Scope Of Impact:

  • Decisions likely have serious impact on the overall success or failure of a function. Erroneous decisions or recommendations result in critical delays or modifications to company objectives and cause long-term harm to business operations

Work Experience:

  • Typically 10+ years including 5+ years of management experience

Education And Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.

Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • This role requires an individual that is highly collaborative with strong influencing skills, ambitious, creative, highly resourceful, self-driven and results oriented with extensive experience in infrastructure strategy, public and hybrid cloud, engineering and operations.
  • Recent experience as a senior leader in a managed-services environment as a provider or client is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a large, global, matrix-managed environment is also preferred.
  • Will play a strategic role where they will design and build infrastructure for sites/software, ensuring the highest levels of security and responding swiftly to any new and emerging vulnerabilities and security threats. Needs considerable proven leadership experience in large scale project planning, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Successful candidate will have skills and experience to recruit, mentor, motivate, evaluate, and retain an effective staff.
  • Transformation leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire and lead a team through change and transition.
  • This position has company-wide responsibility for a wide range of information technology projects, and hardware and software solutions.
  • A demonstrated experience in enterprise network technologies.
  • The incumbent has critical decision-making authority for projects, designs and solutions and works at peer level with management across diverse areas and multiple regions.
