This role is very much a field sales role focused on business development and account management. You will work on your own territory identifying opportunities for business expansion in support of the customer sales strategy and expanding on current customer engagement and developing new customers into the region across all sectors.
You will need to be a go getter with a growth mindset and work in inventive ways to attain new business.
You will be expected to identify customer needs and apply the company's value proposition to drive sales growth and improve profitability.
Meanwhile you will develop strategic relationships and align customer and business goals, creating and managing a business and execution plan for shared success among the customer, vendor partners and the company.
What are the key responsibilities?
- Identify new sales opportunities in focus and business development accounts.
- Sell products from the Avnet Abacus line card, maximizing on the preferred franchises.
- Work with Field Application Engineers to identify opportunities for Design Wins.
- Work directly with suppliers to engage with new customers and target technologies.
- Deliver territory forecasting and sales development plans.
- Provide information to customers on products and services.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of sales in accordance with Company policy.
What are we looking for?
- Preferably a Degree in Electrical Engineering or Sales and Marketing
- Relevant experience in technical sales and / or business development, ideally within the electronic or component distribution market
- Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills
- Open minded, flexible, and energetic
- Demonstrate ability to achieve targets and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel if business reasons require.
- Time management skills
- Proven commercial and technical skills.
