Sales Account Manager
We are seeking a motivated and commercially driven Sales Account Manager to manage and grow our portfolio of Leisure Partners and Inbound Tour Operators across New Zealand. Based our offices in Ellerslie, Auckland you will play a pivotal part in delivering our Leisure Partners channel strategy, working closely with Leisure Sales Managers to nurture existing accounts and identify new revenue opportunities.
About the Position
As a key representative of our business within the Travel Trade industry, you will be responsible for building strong, profitable relationships, proactively identifying growth opportunities, and adding value to our partners. You will also represent our business at trade events, conventions, and industry forums to strengthen our presence in the market.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow partnerships – Build and maintain strong, profitable, and strategic relationships with Leisure Partners and Inbound Tour Operators.
- Account management – Create and deliver tailored account management plans, ensuring exceptional customer experience is at the core.
- Sales delivery – Facilitate and present sales results, provide performance insights, and conduct regular account reviews with key partners.
- Revenue achievement – Meet and exceed sales targets by identifying new opportunities and maximising existing business.
- Training & product updates – Deliver product knowledge sessions, updates, and training to customers to strengthen engagement.
- Stakeholder collaboration – Work closely with Operations and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless delivery and positive customer outcomes.
- Contract management – Manage customer contracts and renewal timelines, ensuring effective strategies for re-signing and retention.
- CRM & reporting – Manage and implement CRM data accurately within Salesforce to track performance and customer engagement.
- Market insights – Analyse market trends, provide tactical recommendations, and identify growth opportunities.
- Representation – Act as a brand ambassador at trade events and industry conventions, representing our values and strengthening our reputation.
- Health, safety & compliance – Promote a safe and healthy work environment and uphold Avis Budget Group values in all interactions.
What we are looking for:
- Experience – At least 3+ years of proven success in sales account management, ideally within travel, tourism, airlines, or corporate sectors.
- Commercial acumen – Demonstrated track record of revenue growth and profit achievement through effective account management.
- Relationship skills – Strong ability to build, maintain, and leverage long-term relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
- Communication skills – Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strategic mindset – Ability to balance maintaining existing business with identifying and pursuing new opportunities for growth.
- Autonomy & drive – Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently while thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Attention to detail – Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, contracts, and reporting obligations.
