Avery Dennison is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Talent Acquisition Operations Coordinator for a contract position. This role is focused on providing critical support to our pre-employment process, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition for candidates moving to the new hire stage.
Hours: 20-30 Hours / Week (flexible)
Pay Rate: $20 - $25 / hr.
Location: Hybrid (mix of in-office and remote) - Must be based in Northeast Ohio
You will be responsible for managing key operational tasks, primarily focusing on pre-employment screening coordination (background checks, drug testing, and medical questionnaires) and maintaining clear, professional candidate communication. This position requires collaboration with the Talent Acquisition team, candidates, and third-party vendors in a fast-paced environment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (Pre-Employment Focus)
Your primary responsibilities will be centered on the pre-employment phase of the hiring process:
Screening Coordination: Manage and monitor all pre-employment screening processes, including initiating and tracking background checks, drug tests, and medical questionnaires.
Candidate Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates regarding their pre-employment screening status, answering questions and providing clear, timely updates and instructions.
Process Management: Actively follow up on pending or incomplete screening results with candidates and/or third-party vendors to ensure timely completion.
Troubleshooting: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the screening process with a high degree of urgency.
New Hire Communication: Initiate and track new hire communications, ensuring candidates have the information they need for their next steps.
Data & Systems Management: Maintain accurate and confidential records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), SmartRecruiters, and other tracking systems.
SECONDARY SUPPORT RESPONSIBILITIES
As time and priorities allow, you may also:
Provide backup support for interview scheduling and coordination.
Assist with general administrative tasks for the TA Operations team, such as data entry or tracking.
Support employee referral program processing (tracking referrals, answering questions).

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. (Human Resources degree or coursework is a plus).
Experience: 1-2+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or a high-volume administrative operations role (internship experience considered).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets).
Core Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and complete a high volume of tasks with little guidance.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on professional, clear, and service-oriented interaction.
Make smart and timely decisions; understand when to take ownership and when to involve other parties.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think ahead and troubleshoot.
