Avera Orthopedics Supervisor

This supervisor position will oversee the operations of the front office staff at Avera Orthopedics. This position will work with the PSRs and the Surgery Schedulers in the clinic to oversee their workflow, provide coaching, create the schedules, and determine coverage needs based on call outs and leaves.

Responsible to establish goals, objectives and performance standard and develop policies and procedures. Also responsible for coordinating a level of communication between support staff, physicians, and all other clinic departments to create a positive outcome for clinic employees and patients.

What you will do:

  • In collaboration with the Clinic Leader is accountable for the clerical operations and coordination of patient flow.
  • Manages the resources to meet budgetary clinical goals and objectives.
  • Is responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels to maximize efficiency.
  • Collects and maintains monthly data and trend information per clinic manager direction.
  • Develops, assists in, and updates clinic policy and procedures.
  • Will assume responsibility to understand and communicate policies to staff and monitors compliance.
  • Acts as a liaison and assistant to Clinic Leader(s) to monitor work of Admission and Patient Service Representatives.
  • Responsible for maintaining work flow and smooth patient process.
  • Handles daily work issues by addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • 1-3 years Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associate's or equivalent from two- college or technical school
  • High School or GED Equivalent
