A Brief Overview
Responsible for assisting with the management and supervision of the Environmental Services Department primarily in the Housekeeping and Linen Department. Manages day-to-day operation housekeeping insuring that the facility is safe, clean and comfortable for all our patients, guests and staff in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policies and procedures.
What You Will Do
- Provides for the analysis and collection of records and data as needed by Quality Assurance, Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines or as may be required by law; including but not limited to managing policies within the department.
- Manages, develops, and motivates subordinates to accomplish department objectives and to ensure the facilities are safe, clean and comfortable, evaluating performance, detecting unsatisfactory trends and performance deficiencies initiating necessary corrective action and development of actions plans to make corrections.
- Performs staffing analyses to optimize use of personnel. Foster attitudes, conditions, and environments that yield improved quality and quantity of employee and team performance. Perform necessary audits and inspections to support departmental and facility activities. Inspire and guide employees toward goal achievement to enhance employee development within his/her position.
- Inspects facilities for both upkeep and cleanliness. Inspects jobs in process and at completion to ensure that the department's goal of providing a safe, clean, comfortable environment is being met are maintained.
- Maintains inventories of housekeeping material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchase; periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep at facility levels. Recommends, plans and implements equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.
- Consults with leadership in solving operational problems, designing methods and procedures to improve the efficiency, productivity and control of the departments operations, recommending changes in departmental policies, plans or programs as they affect the morale, attitude and retention of Facility Services employees.
- Assists in the preparation, planning, and implementation of the departmental budget and trend monthly variances. Develop and implement strategic measures to ensure that budget objectives are achieved, providing appropriate justification or rectification for variances.
- Works with other Managers within the EVS Department in assuming management responsibility of the Department in the absence of the Director of EVS.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- 4-6 years minimum of facility services, supervision experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's from a four-year college or university
