Position Summary:

Avathon Industrial AI Suite is the world's leading AI enabled SaaS platform that provides autonomous software and industrial grade AI solutions to ever growing Industrial / physical world needs by combining the power of AI/ Data science, cloud & big data and deep domain expertise. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated "Principal Software Engineer (Architect)". The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Architecting, deploying and scaling large-scale Enterprise systems, possess strong technical skills, and be passionate about driving a technical engineering culture within the organization.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design, architecture, and development of scalable enterprise-grade solutions. You will influence technical excellence across the engineering teams, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact software systems. Your deep expertise in Python, graph databases, cloud platforms, microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, design principles and distributed systems design will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of our products. You will be working closely with team members across domains with deep technical skills in the industrial AI & SaaS technology domain. Here is how your work responsibilities shall look like.

• Architect and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Python and its frameworks.
• Design and implement distributed systems and microservices with a focus on modularity, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Define and enforce architectural principles and design standards aligned with business and technical goals.
• Apply deep programming expertise to build scalable, high-performance systems.
• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues, and guide teams through technical challenges.
• Actively participate in hands-on technical contributions, providing technical leadership and guidance to the team as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and operations to define technical requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, processes, and standards to ensure quality, efficiency, and scalability across all engineering initiatives.
• Providing mentorship, guidance, and support to Engineering team for the team's success.
• Lead and participate in Agile software development processes from design to release.
• Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and escalate issues as necessary.
• Serve as a thought leader and advocate for engineering excellence and innovation.
• Define best practices and standards for database and data architecture.

You'll have:

• 9+ years of overall experience with at least 2-3 years of Architectural experience.
• Expertise in few modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud technologies notably Python.
• Hands-on experience with system design, architecture, and implementation, with the ability to make strategic technical decisions.
• Excellent Technical Leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Background in large scale SaaS systems, or building multi-tenant platforms or cloud native systems. Experience architecting technical strategies for platform products that can serve many customers.
• Good understanding of different cloud hosting offerings - preferably GCP is required.

Additional Requirements:

• Experience in industrial domains e.g. SCM, Aviation, Industrial & Manufacturing industry is preferred but not limited to it.
• Prior experience working in a start-up or fast-paced environment is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment, with a passion for driving impact and delivering results.
