ADP SBS RS (Retirement Services) Hiring a Quality Assurance Analyst – Test Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for testing and validating ADP's Retirement Services solutions to ensure our customers can save time, stay compliant, and effectively offer and manage retirement plans to their employees. You will work within a Scrum team to test and verify that new backend microservices, APIs, and other systems function correctly and meet business requirements.

You will start your day on a scrum call to sync up on sprint testing goals and priorities with your team. You will spend most of your day executing test cases, performing exploratory testing, analyzing test results, and identifying defects in both automated and manual testing scenarios. Your role requires you to create detailed test documentation, collaborate on test automation frameworks, and advocate for quality improvements throughout the development lifecycle.

In this role, you will work closely with developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to understand feature requirements and acceptance criteria, then design comprehensive test strategies and test plans for ADP's Retirement Services solutions. You will execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing to validate system behavior, data integrity, and user workflows before deployment. This role is critical to ensuring we deliver high-quality, reliable products that meet customer needs and regulatory compliance standards.

  • Agile: You understand that an agile environment requires flexibility. Sometimes the scope is not fully written and you will have to talk with the Product Owner and the team to get more details and complement the User Stories. You and the team will define the sprint goal together. Working in two-week sprints, you need to keep up with timelines. Time constraints and fluidity of work often mean taking a creative approach to your testing strategy. Starting test development in parallel with the feature development may be one option.
  • Create & Test: You'll define test plans and scenarios and will implement automated test cases for large-scale, complex software applications. You will focus on the verification and validation of applications from a system and end-user perspective.
  • Collaborate: We work collaboratively, so you will communicate and collaborate with technical developers and multiple stakeholders for your products. You'll articulate clear and compelling reasons to persuade developers and Product Owners to make product changes for the end user's benefit.
  • Learning: You're always learning new codes and eager to figure things out as you learn.
  • Challenges: Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for a solution.

What You Need To Succeed In This Role:

MUST HAVE (Required Skills):

  • Demonstrates understanding and experience with: Quality Assurance principles and testing methodologies
  • Creating basic test cases and test scenarios
  • Manual testing of web applications and user interfaces
  • API testing using tools like Postman
  • Writing and executing simple SQL queries for data validation
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing phases
  • Test automation concepts and tools like Selenium, Cucumber or Playwright

NICE TO HAVE (What Will Make a Difference):

  • You have exposure to or willingness to learn: Modern automation frameworks like Playwright for cross-browser testing
  • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts using JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Page Object Model (POM) design patterns for test automation
  • Continuous Integration processes and tools like Jenkins
  • Integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, etc.)
  • Basic programming concepts in languages like JavaScript, Java, or C#
  • Visual regression testing and screenshot comparison techniques
  • AI-powered testing tools and techniques for test case generation
  • Using GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) to assist with test documentation and test data creation
  • Understanding of AI/ML model testing principles and validation approaches
