WHS Support Officer

A Position Descriptor is attached for reference, examples of the practical tasks you will perform include:

  • Processing communication received to and sent from the WHS Inbox, whs@anu.edu.au.
  • Assisting with controlling documentation owned by People & Culture which has a WHS topic.
  • Updating web page content owned by Safety and Wellbeing, in particular the WHSMS Handbook.
  • Processing data related to WHS performance statistics and training
  • Assisting with secretariat functions in support of the University WHS Committee.
  • Assisting with administration of the Figtree reporting system.

The Position Descriptor details the skills and experience required for the role (see the Selection Criteria). In performing the role, the incumbent would enjoy working in a small and collegiate team, working to a set agenda and time frame of reporting on WHS matters up the University WHS Committee and coordinating support and advice to broad stakeholder groups on a range of WHS topics and/or issues. No two (2) workdays are the same, the team experiences diversity in tasks while having fun, enjoying a sense of achievement in support of health, safety and wellbeing of the University community.

Safety Systems and Audit (SS&A) team, works within the Safety and Wellbeing team.

SS&A is a section with People and Culture Division located in Building 10A.
