Philanthropy Manager

ANU is unique among Australian universities. ANU Advancement builds meaningful relationships with alumni, donors and the wider community, driving the philanthropic support so valuable in bringing our university's vision to life. Our Philanthropy Managers play a leading role in connecting ANU with people and organisations who share our conviction in the power of research and education to remake our world for the better.

We want every donation to have an impact, and we love to connect passionate donors with opportunities to make a difference– whether that's through tackling climate change, creating Indigenous scholarships, or driving life-changing innovations in medical research. Together, we're growing a culture of philanthropy, and working towards a better future.

Our Philanthropy Managers work strategically with generous supporters and talented colleagues to secure transformational donations for an exciting range of ANU priority projects.

We are seeking self-starters who are intellectually curious, fast learners, strong writers, and skilled at building relationships and rapport. Our ideal candidates are highly proactive, results-focused, and adaptable communicators—equally confident engaging donors from diverse backgrounds, briefing senior leaders, and collaborating with subject matter experts.

You will bring energy, persistence, and a sense of adventure to navigating a complex and dynamic organisational environment, consistently finding ways to move work forward and achieve meaningful outcomes.

We are driven by ambitious KPIs and a clear vision for growth, and we support our team to succeed, celebrate their wins, and help them plan for future career progression. We cherish our friendly, supportive and resilient team culture.

Your background may be in fundraising, business development, sales, strategic communications, arts management, or the non-profit sector. Diverse candidates are welcome. Your most important quality will be the commitment and capability to deliver an outstanding level of service to our donors and to ANU.
