Sign Technician (Production and Installation)

The Sign Technician (Production and Installation) is responsible for managing the production and installation of signage within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role requires expertise in operating various production machinery such as laser cutters and digital printers, coupled with proficient on-site installation skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards, efficiency in managing multiple projects simultaneously, and a collaborative approach to teamwork. The Sign Technician serves as a key resource in delivering specialized consultative and technical assistance, contributing significantly to the agency’s communication and facility management goals.

Essential Duties:

• Sign Production:
• Operate and maintain laser cutting and engraving machines for detailed material processing.
• Manage digital printing operations for large-format graphics, banners, and various types of signage.
• Prepare materials (acrylic, metal, wood, vinyl, etc.) for printing and fabrication.
• Operate and maintain UV ink printing system.
• Assemble signage components using jigs, alignment tools, and spacers for accurate glue-ups.
• Accurately apply vinyl graphics, laminates, and other finishing elements.
• Fabricate and assemble diverse sign types including dimensional signs, and custom-designed projects.
• Maintain thorough and accurate production records to ensure timely completion of signage requests.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on production equipment.
• Effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, preflight problems, color, and print quality.
• Sign Installation:
• Conduct on-site installations of various signs such as wall-mounted, post-and-panel, window graphics, and vinyl transfers.
• Perform site surveys to gather accurate measurements and installation requirements.
• Safely operate power tools, cutters, and hand tools necessary for precise installation tasks.
• Adhere strictly to all safety standards and regulations during installations.
• Effectively troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges on-site.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of workspace and equipment.
• Professionally represent the agency in client interactions during installations.
