Transport Planner / Transport Engineer
We need transport planners/engineers with a minimum of 3+ years' experience to support a growing national pipeline of complex, city-shaping projects across the people, movement & place (pmp) practice.
You'll work in a fast paced, technically strong pmp team delivering multimodal solutions across constrained urban environments. Expect a mix of analytics and investment case reporting, design and operations, client and stakeholder integration and problem solving across some of NZ's most visible transport programmes.
What You'll Do
- Deliver planning and engineering inputs across multimodal corridor, public transport and state highway projects (e.g., northern busway, te ha noa, wellington and hamilton to tauranga strategic transport plans).
- Prepare investment cases, options analysis, and reporting that is illustrative in nature but evidence based.
- Contribute to multimodal design development: corridor layouts, cross-sections, intersection modelling inputs, bus, walk and cycle and freight user analysis.
- Work directly with clients (at, nzta, councils) on project workshops, presentations and technical discussions.
- Support urban integration and movement/placemaking assessments on major programmes (e.g. city centre masterplan).
- Collaborate with internal specialists across safety, modelling, urban design, and engineering disciplines.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 3 years' experience in transport planning and/or transport engineering.
- Strong technical capability in data analytics, transport assessments and/or investment case development.
- Experience working on multimodal or public transport projects in New Zealand (or similar contexts internationally).
- Ability to work in complex stakeholder environments and communicate clearly.
- Genuine passion for the transport sector and for shaping people-centred, movement-led places.
