Your role

As a new Civil Engineer, you'll be a vital part of our growing Water team who are changing the way we design and deliver major works in South East Queensland. Our team works on a range of medium, large and major projects for the Queensland water market and the broader ANZ market, focusing on providing feasibility, concept and detailed designs for government agency clients as well as contractor partners.

As a Civil Engineer joining our QLD Water Team, you will play an integral part in a highly skilled team to engineer resilient and sustainable water infrastructure solutions.

Here are the key things you will do to 'bring ideas to life'.

  • Utilise your technical engineering capabilities to play a hands-on supporting role in the delivery of projects
  • Carry out engineering and design tasks as well as interacting with clients and maintaining positive relationships
  • Collaborate with other technical disciplines within the wider project teams as you provide input in working together to develop client-focused solutions on major water infrastructure projects
  • Lead or contribute to successful teams to deliver challenging water and wastewater concept and detailed design projects for our clients including Seqwater, Unitywater, Urban Utilities, and State and Federal Governments.
  • Undertake and/or assist with the civil design and hydraulic analysis of water and wastewater network and treatment infrastructure.
  • Produce high-quality technical outputs to meet client expectations including design documents, reports, specifications and presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to deliver excellent project outcomes.

We value that each of our team members brings something different to Aurecon. We look for people who have had a broad range of experiences throughout their career and can demonstrate how they have worked as part of a team to bring ideas to life.

You will;

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering (or equivalent). Chartered status with Engineers Australia (or equivalent) and RPEQ is preferred but not essential.
  • Have 5-7 years demonstrated experience in a similar civil engineering role, ideally working on the design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects including pipelines and pump stations. Knowledge of Australian water industry standards and codes is highly regarded.
  • A background in at least some of the following technical areas;
    • Bulk water infrastructure design capability (e.g. pump stations and/or reservoirs)
    • Sewer Pipeline design (gravity and pressure)
    • Water or wastewater treatment facilities design.
    • Experience in hydraulic assessment of water assets (e.g. pipelines, treatment plants etc.)
    • Project / Design management experience
