We're currently recruiting for a Senior Electrical Electronic Engineer to join our Warhead Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background who thrives in complex, high-integrity environments — from system integration to safety and security-critical projects.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading the design, integration, and testing of electrical/electronic systems
- Delivering engineering solutions across the full lifecycle, ensuring safety and performance standards
- Driving technical delivery, continuous improvement, and innovation
- Managing stakeholders and mentoring multidisciplinary teams
- Presenting technical findings to internal and external audiences
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- HNC/HND, NVQ Level 5, or degree in a science/engineering discipline — or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in leading technical projects and teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and people management abilities
- Ability to plan and deliver multiple objectives concurrently
Desirable Experience:
- Engineering delivery across safety-critical programmes
- Cost-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives
- Effective stakeholder engagement and influence
- Coaching and developing others within multidisciplinary teams
- Promoting high standards in safety, security, and quality

You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role (more information on this can be found on our website) and be willing and able to travel within the UK and overseas if required.
Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE.
