Sr. Data Engineer

Build a data platform to analyze IoT telemetry and improve field technician productivity

Job Title

Essential Job Functions:

- Derive measures based on data analysis to drive field productivity, including insights to optimize technician efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve service delivery

- Communicate how data use cases create business value and communicate to business stakeholders accordingly

- Work closely with Field experts, Service SMEs and RandD teams to contextualize data and derive operational and engineering insights

- Use established procedures and artifacts from our Common Data Platform that is based in Databricks and MS Azure

- Make use of data IoT telemetry, customer data, service data as well as further internal and external datasets

- Develop and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts for data exploration, transformation and advanced analytics

- Apply data modelling and validation techniques to ensure accuracy and consistency

Who We Are Looking For:

Education and Experience:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field

- Minimum 5-10 years experience in Data Science / Data Engineering

- Familiarity with field service business processes and service contract model

- Passion for data-driven business focused innovation in industrial services

- Understanding of machinery comparable to elevators and escalators (e.g., industrial machines, rotating equipment, robotics)

- Experience collaborating with both technical and business SMEs (Field, Service, RandD)

- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, SQL, and Python

- Proficiency in Power BI (DAX, data modelling, dashboard design)

- Experience working with IoT telemetry data (preferably in industrial or service environments)

- Proven track record in data analytics roles, ideally within industrial, service, or IoT-heavy organizations

- Fluent in English

This role requires that candidates are legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
