Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality code within an agile cross-functional team.

Own and author clear, detailed technical designs that guide implementation and align with architectural standards and business objectives.

Propose scalable and maintainable solutions and provide reliable estimates for development efforts.

Write clean, well-tested, and performant code while adhering to established coding standards and best practices.

Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to uphold engineering excellence.

Develop strong knowledge of the medication management domain to act as a technical subject matter expert.

Take ownership of deliverables and coordinate cross-team efforts to ensure successful execution.

Drive continued adoption and effective use of AI tooling to achieve business outcomes.

Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

12+ years of software engineering experience, strong product development background.

Proven experience leading full-stack development teams, including technical mentoring and design oversight.

Proficiency in React, modern frontend architecture, core web technologies - HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Java

Solid experience with relational databases and data modeling.

Experience with various system architectures and distributed systems, including monolith, microservices

Experience with generative AI and AI-assist software engineering tooling

GraphQL experience is highly desired

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates.
