We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Telecom Power Systems Support Specialist to support telecom Power Systems projects. Maintain and support power infrastructure critical to telecommunications networks. This role involves ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of DC power systems, backup generators, UPS systems, and battery banks across telecom sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with telecom-grade power systems and a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
Third Tier support for Power System Projects. Includes working with installation technicians to commission power equipment and systems. Maintain accurate post-project documentation of power systems, configurations, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with network engineers, field technicians, and vendors to support infrastructure upgrades and expansions. Troubleshoot DC power systems, rectifiers, inverters, and battery backup units. Monitor and support power infrastructure at telecom sites including central offices, cell towers, and data centers. Respond to power-related alarms and outages, ensuring minimal service disruption. Conduct site audits, conduct power capacity assessments, and develop specific scopes of work. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and telecom power standards (e.g., NEBS, IEEE, Telcordia).
Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field. 3+ years of experience in telecom power systems or electrical support in a telecom environment. Familiarity with DC power systems, UPS, generators, and battery technologies. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and site drawings. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote telecom sites as needed.
Preferred Skills: Experience with remote monitoring systems and SNMP-based power alarms. Knowledge of grounding and bonding practices for telecom facilities. Familiarity with energy efficiency and sustainability practices in power systems. Strong capabilities in MS Word and Excel. Familiarity with SQL databases. Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Vertiv, Eaton, Eltek). Demonstrated knowledge of applicable construction codes and standards governing building design, maintenance, and safety.
