We all work out of our (legendary) San Francisco office, which was once used to build ships during the World Wars.

Senior Full Stack Engineer

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you'll design and build the web applications that operators use to steer satellites, visualize live telemetry, and execute mission-critical commands. Your code won't just run in a browser — it will help run space missions.

Role

• Lead the design, build, and implementation of new UI capabilities for Astranis satellite operations
• Work closely with our Mission Operations teams to build command interfaces and telemetry screens that enable safe, efficient, and elegant command and control of our satellites throughout their missions
• Design high-performance, reliable, mission-critical software that sends commands to space
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define software requirements, architectures, and designs
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a full stack developer or contributing to professional web development projects
• Proficiency with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python
• Experience working with relational/SQL databases (e.g. Postgres)
• Comfortable rapidly prototyping and fully developing user interface concepts with focus on overall user experience
• Comfortable diving into all layers to implement both front-end and back-end components of new features
• Understanding of web application security best practices

Bonus

• Experience with Cloud development using Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience in space operations or fleet management

All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits. Base pay is a single component of Astranis's total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, high quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(K) retirement, and free on-site catered meals. Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.

Base Salary

$150,000 - $200,000 USD
