Product Manager

Assurity Trusted Solutions (ATS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Government Technology Agency (GovTech). As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for owning and driving the success of central digital products for Whole-of-Government (WOG) from conception to launch, as well as day-to-day operations. This role focuses on developing and delivering reliable digital solutions that address common WOG needs including human resources, finance and workplace productivity applications used across government agencies.

You will set product strategies and work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design and operations to deliver on product goals. Your key responsibilities include defining product requirements, prioritising features based on business impact, and ensuring that product development stays on track whilst maintaining high standards of compliance, reliability and performance. In this role, you will regularly interact with stakeholders, balancing user needs, market demands, and business objectives to deliver measurable value. You will be accountable for translating diverse agency requirements into cohesive product solutions that ensure consistency and interoperability for WOG.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and execution of vision and strategy that is articulated, informed, aligned and prioritised for the product, breaking down product vision into actionable initiatives.
  • Drive product strategy and alignment with organisational goals, ensuring strategic coherence across WOG digital transformation objectives.
  • Define and drive the execution of product roadmaps that address the diverse needs of government agencies whilst ensuring consistency and interoperability across products, focusing on long-term sustainability and WOG reusability.
  • Stay informed of Total Addressable Market (TAM) for the product to understand ongoing viability and future sustainability.
  • Define, plan and evaluate features informed by user research, customer feedback, market research, competitor review, technology and consumer trends, and internal feedback loops.
  • Accountable for the impact and outcomes of the product, ensuring measurable value.
  • Lead and collaborate with business stakeholders and representatives to understand and harmonise business requirements. Manage relationships and expectations across different ministries and statutory boards to ensure that the product solutions address their operational needs.
  • Drive the development of relationships with stakeholders inside and outside of your team, fostering strong partnerships and collaboration.
  • Drive the cost recovery and alignment amongst stakeholders on charging model for usage of products.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of digital products, ensuring high availability, security and IM8 compliance, and performance standards. Establish service level agreements and monitoring frameworks to maintain reliable operations of the products.
  • Manage cross-functional teams (engineering, design, operations) to translate business requirements into technical solutions and product features, ensuring alignment on product goals, driving team meetings to ensure objectives are clear and tasks are distributed effectively.
  • Drive cross-functional team alignment and collaboration, manage competing priorities to achieve key objectives to deliver product milestones in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other teams to unblock dependencies to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Drive the balance of speed, quality and simplicity within your product area, consulting with engineers and designers on implementation details and understanding tradeoffs of balancing speed and quality.
  • Lead and coordinate with cybersecurity, compliance, and governance teams to ensure the product meets government standards and compliance.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and challenges that may impact the product from technical, market and operational perspectives.
  • Drive user-centred design principles to create intuitive and efficient digital experiences for end users.
  • Develop change management strategies to support successful adoption of new systems and processes across agencies.
  • Design and conduct product training and engagement.
  • Drive go-to-market plans for product and feature launches.
  • Establish comprehensive metrics and KPIs to measure product success and user satisfaction, continuously analysing usage patterns and feedback to identify opportunities for enhancement and optimisation whilst driving measurable performance improvements across the products.
  • Driver for making decisions and prioritisations based on data (e.g., leveraging data to validate or eliminate ideas before development, make A/B test recommendations based on data).
  • Proactively take charge of management reporting, setting and executing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to measure product success, providing regular performance updates and strategic insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Take charge of financial budgeting, procurement processes, and contract management to ensure cost effective delivery whilst maintaining compliance with government procurement guidelines and financial governance requirements.
  • Oversee IM8 compliance and governance areas for the products, managing audit processes and ensuring adherence to regulatory compliance standards.
  • Seek feedback from seniors and leadership for personal growth, actively pursuing opportunities to enhance product management capabilities and strategic thinking.
  • Drive the sharing of learnings and best practices with peers and junior team members, fostering knowledge transfer and capability building across the product management community.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to streamline processes, identifying and implementing efficiency gains that enhance team productivity and product delivery outcomes.
