Wells Support Technician

The Wells Support Technician is responsible for assisting in all phases of well work activities including slick line, electric line, coiled tubing, formation fracture activity and well stimulation operations. This position is responsible for the construction of hard line, job set up and rigs down of tanks, chokes, valves, manifolds, well head attachments, well house removal and installation, pressure testing, and the installation and removal of blinds and piping. Well Support Technicians will also drive and operate heavy equipment to include Vacuum Trucks, Tankers, and Super Suckers. For this position we are looking for an applicant that also has Bed Truck Winching experience. Other duties are assigned to include facility and operations support or assistance to other groups and departments.

This is a seasonal, benefits eligible position expected to start in November 2025 and be completed by or around May 2026. Benefits include: health, dental, vision, 401K, and other supplemental insurance.

Essential Duties

  • Must be familiar with hardline set ups, wire line and coiled tubing rig ups, tanks, and consequent monitoring of fluid levels.

  • Must be familiar with heavy equipment support to include rigging and securing loads, triplex, and diaphragm pumps.

  • Able to perform work in cold and extreme weather conditions.

  • Must be willing to work either day or night shift as needed.

  • Must be familiar and able to operate Vac trucks, Tankers, Super Suckers, and driving on ice roads to include ice covered gravel pads.

  • Must be familiar with wells, wire line, down-hole pumping, drilling fluid support loading and unloading liquids to include water, seawater, brine, mud, diesel and crude oil under fluid transfer guidelines and procedures.

  • Must be familiar with monitoring chokes, tanks, gauges on flow back and coil tubing rig ups.

  • Must be familiar with performing pressure testing of hard line, pipe systems, freeze protection, and provide general support of well head work using hand tools, wrenches, and various electric and pneumatic tools.

  • Must be able to work closely with others in a team environment.

  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

Required Experience

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • A valid (U.S issued, Alaska compliant) Class A CDL with both Tanker and Hazmat endorsements is required.

  • A current DOT Medical Card is required.

  • A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.

  • The ability to work 84 hours a week on a 2x2 rotation is required.

  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Five (5) or more years of experience working in a Construction or Industrial setting, the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environment is preferred.

  • Bed Truck Winching experience is preferred.

Working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee's ability to safely meet job standards.
