The Mechanical Field Engineer reports directly to the Project Engineer and Project Manager and is responsible for verifying field work according to the drawings and daily reports as well as verifying the deliveries of material. This position works in conjunction with discipline leads, field personnel, subcontractors, and customers to facilitate communication, monitor change management, and achieve project objectives.
• Interface with project managers, discipline leads, field personnel, subcontractors, and customers to identify project priorities and requirements.
• Review work scopes, prepare labor and equipment estimates, and work plans to assist in overall project execution plan development.
• Assist project controls personnel in preparing takeoffs for projects, maintenance, and related activities.
• Review drawings to ensure compliance in the field.
• Evaluate and monitor design changes, specifications, and drawing releases for field construction.
• Implement change requirements in accordance with Company and customer requirements.
• Ensure field personnel have sufficient information, materials, and documentation to maintain work integrity and compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and field philosophies.
• Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
• Support the AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
• A Valid Driver's License is required.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience providing engineering support to oilfield and construction personnel required.
• The ability to work 80.5 – 84 hours a week on a 2x2 or 3x3 rotation is required.
• A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
• At least two (2) – five (5) years' experience working in the Oil and Gas industry, Petrochemical industry, on the North Slope, or in an Arctic environment is preferred.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
