Light Duty Oiler/PM Mechanic

The Light Duty Oiler/PM Mechanic is responsible for lubricating, performing safety checks, and monitoring fluid levels on trucks and equipment. This position assists Light-Duty Mechanics during repairs and preventative maintenance activities as needed.

Essential duties include:

  • Perform minor repairs on light-duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Replace engine, transmission, and differential oil.
  • Replace required filters and apply grease and other lubricants on light duty vehicles and equipment.
  • Monitor fluid levels on all vehicles and equipment.
  • Check and maintain cooling and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain records and logs of fluid consumption.
  • Assist mechanics during repairs and PM maintenance activities.
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, shop, and the general work area.
  • Snow removal around doors and walkways.
  • Properly disposing of oily waste, used oil and filters.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

Required experience includes:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.
  • A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
  • The ability to work 84 hours a week on a 2x2 or 3x3 rotation is required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working as a Light-Duty Oiler and/or as a Preventative Maintenance Mechanic is required.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience working as a Light-Duty Oiler and/or Preventative Maintenance Mechanic in a Construction or Industrial setting, the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environment is preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working on older models of Ford, GM, and Ram pick-up trucks are preferred.

Working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
