Director of Engineering - Limelight Mammoth
The Director of Engineering is responsible for the exterior and interior maintenance of The Little Nell hotel and all areas directly surrounding it. The Director of Engineering provides leadership, planning, organization, and direction for the entire hotel Engineering department. This is an operational manager position which will include some maintenance engineer job duties. This position reports to the General Manager.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential job functions/key job responsibilities include:
- Assist and oversee the Engineering Manager with management of the Engineering department and vendor operations
- Assist in Capital Budget planning and department budget planning
- Assist to ensure all labor and expense budgets are followed and anticipate/address potential overages in budget and communicate action taken to the Director of Operations
- Ensure all compliance standards are met; maintain Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), including Global Harmonized System for chemicals (GHS), regulations
- Makes financial decisions as it relates to the day by day operation
- Responsible for purchasing and inventory
- Ensure all work orders are tracked/completed/prioritized
- Respond to and complete all general maintenance requests as needed, to include all areas inside and outside of the hotel & related properties
- Oversee the property facilities management which includes owner relationships, property walks, budget preparation, all guest requests and room calls
- Address safety hazards and report suspicious persons or activities to management and adhere to all safety standards set by the hotel, city and state ordinances
- Maintain all tools in a clean and orderly condition
- Set up and execute preventative maintenance programs
- Other duties as assigned
Education & experience requirements include:
- College degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years facility management experience required, hotel facility experience preferred
- Licensed/certified CPR & OSHA certified
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Proficient knowledge in building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC
- Knowledge of hotel operations and familiar with the construction process
- Competent with computer programs such as Microsoft Office
- Previous maintenance/construction experience is required
- Knowledgeable of and experience with elevators, power, water and sewer distribution; fire codes and fire protection; ADA, EPA specifically with hotel mechanical equipment
- Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) language skills a plus
- Familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures and assist in the event of an emergency and/or security event as directed by management
- Strong organizational, team building and communication skills
- Complete tasks and projects delegated by your manager and assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
- Ability to create an enjoyable, secure work environment, reviewing employee's personal goals and objectives, and practicing friendly, sincere management
- Ability to ensure that the Director of Operations and General Manager are made aware of guest comments and concerns
- Ability to analyze numbers and understand their impact on project cost and budgeting
- Ability to identify process improvements and best practices
- Ability to provide supervision and direction of engineering technicians; perform safety inspections
Work environment & physical demands:
- Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
- Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
- Must be available for emergency calls and be able to respond adequately
