Drive an ambulance to transport ill or injured patients to the appropriate facility.
Ensure safe transportation of ill or injured patients.
Maintain ambulance in clean condition and working order. Perform regular routine inspections prior to each shift to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.
Assist with stocking the ambulance with needed supplies and ensure on-board equipment is in working order.
Perform the duties of an EMT or Paramedic, depending on qualifications, as needed.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One or more of the following required:
Licensed Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Paramedic credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required. Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) obtained within 30 days of hire date.
