Registered Nurse Labor And Delivery

Direct services, workflow and resources for one or more of the assigned specialty nursing areas: Cardiovascular/Cath Lab, Surgical Services, Emergency/Triage, Endoscopy, Adult or Pediatric/NeoNatal Critical Care, Labor & Delivery/Women & Family.

Develop departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.

  • Direct clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management.
  • Prepare and monitor budget(s) and ensure that the assigned nursing area operates within allocated funds.
  • Coordinate and direct internally and externally-driven audits.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, administration and directors to develop streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully.
  • Remove obstacles to achieving clinical quality, service excellence and financial effectiveness targets.
  • Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross Accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required. Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience required.
  • 10 years of experience preferred.
  • 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
  • 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

Labor and Delivery experience

Level III OB acuity experience - a plus

Director level experience - a plus
