Financial Leadership Role
This role supports a critical gap in financial leadership across our transplant programs. It ensures that financial processes, operations, and contracting align with overall program strategy and goals.
Current challenges include:
- Financial clearance processes vary by program and lack standardization
- Policies and procedures for the financial clearance process are not fully established
- Limited understanding of transplant networks and their operational requirements
- Inconsistent tracking of KACC and future SACC accruals, as well as physician reimbursements
- Clinical leadership is carrying financial tasks that fall outside their expertise
- No established global billing processes
- Without this, the program will be unable to contract with Optum, the largest transplant network
Risk mitigation includes:
- Reducing inconsistent billing and coding practices
- Preventing missed reimbursement opportunities and delays in patient clearance
- Lowering compliance risk and improving audit readiness
Role responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement standardized financial workflows for transplant programs across the market
- Lead payer strategy, contract alignment, and reimbursement optimization for transplant services
- Oversee transplant revenue cycle functions including pre-authorization, billing, and collections
- Partner closely with transplant clinical leadership, managed care, patient access, and compliance teams
- Monitor and report key performance indicators such as denial rates, reimbursement yield, clearance time, and month-end metrics
- Identify financial risks and implement corrective actions to ensure audit readiness and maintain compliance
- Support strategic growth initiatives and the expansion of transplant services
Education requirements include:
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.
Additional preferences include:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare finance or revenue cycle leadership preferred
- Deep understanding of transplant program operations, payer requirements, and regulatory standards
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive measurable financial outcomes
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
