Ascension is a leading nonprofit Catholic health system with a culture and associate experience grounded in service, growth, care and connection. We empower our 99,000+ associates to bring their skills and expertise every day to reimagining healthcare, together. Recognized as one of the Best 150+ Places to Work in Healthcare and a Military-Friendly Gold Employer, you'll find an inclusive and supportive environment where your contributions truly matter.
As a CNM in Maternity Services with Ascension, your primary role will be managing induction/labor patients on the labor floor. You will ensure that inductions are started in a timely manner and managed appropriately. You will also manage labor patients and support our physician residents, as well as our private practice OBs. You will also see and evaluate patients in the OB Triage setting for things to include: labor, preterm labor, rupture of membranes, or any complications of pregnancy over 20 weeks of gestation, illness, injury, etc. You will be in charge of triaging patients based on acuity and greatest need and will be supported by the on-call physician for the patients' private practice or the team of OB residents. You will not be responsible for OB Triage and labor floor management at the same time due to the busyness of the unit. You will also cover postpartum rounding on low-risk patients, alongside the physician residents. You will be a part of teaching the Dell Seton interns how to adequately triage a patient, quickly and efficiently, as one of their first-year resident education goals. You will also assist in teaching interns how to deliver laboring patients.
