As a member of the transport planning and engineering team, the purpose of this Traffic Engineer role is to support complex and multi-disciplinary projects in Arup's Singapore office and our regional business. Arup requires a motivated individual with transport and traffic engineering skills to contribute to a culture of successful delivery of projects.

The Opportunity

  • You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project and bid delivery by undertaking traffic engineering, traffic management, and road design across all stages, from concept through to detailed design and construction planning, including both temporary and permanent works.
  • The position requires preparing a range of documentation, including reports and non-standard correspondence, as well as representing the team in external meetings and contributing to internal initiatives and events.
  • You will support the delivery of traffic engineering studies and road design projects, contributing to areas such as road geometry, signage, and pavement markings.
  • This role involves working with minimal supervision within a defined scope, taking ownership of specific components of external design projects while ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • You will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and quality of your own work, and where required, reviewing and providing guidance, feedback, and support to junior team members to aid their development.

Is this role right for you?

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Transport or similar areas;
  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant industry experience in the field of transport engineering / traffic engineering particularly in undertaking traffic engineering, traffic management and road engineering analysis, designs, and solutions for development and infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge and experience of all stages of road design, from concept to detailed design and construction planning and including both temporary and permanent works.
  • Knowledge of Singapore regulations and approvals processes particularly those for the Land Transport Authority, Singapore (LTA), Urban Redevelopment Authority, Singapore (URA), National Parks Board, Singapore (NParks).
  • Proficient in, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil3D and Bentley OpenRoads.
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership is an advantage.
