Lead and manage structural and/or geotechnical design works for infrastructure projects.
Work closely with the BIM team and actively participate in coordination meetings.
Accountable for the delivery of significant and complex activities or projects. This role will require accurate prediction and planning for future resources.
Coordinating project activities to align with overarching goals and address minor conflicts and challenges. Monitor project progress and interdependence and offering support.
Represent Arup at internal and external meetings.
Executing management responsibilities as outlined in Arup’s Management System.
Managing smaller projects independently or as part of a team, allocating resources effectively, collaborating with stakeholders to meet project goals, and handling project communication and reporting.
Develop accurate project cost estimates independently, considering various factors such as materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure precise financial planning.
Take ownership of creating and managing project budgets, actively tracking expenses, and proactively implementing cost control measures to optimize spending and project financial health.
Develop comprehensive reports, documents, and technical papers, prioritizing logical organization and clarity. Conduct in-depth research, data analysis, and meticulous fact-checking to ensure report accuracy. Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts to gather valuable insights and content. Actively participate in delivering reports to stakeholders and engage in follow-up discussions and action plans.
Facilitate collaboration effectively among diverse project teams and disciplines, establishing robust communication channels and workflows.
Coordinate project activities to ensure alignment with project objectives and actively address conflicts and challenges arising from multidisciplinary interactions.
Monitor project progress and interdependence with attention to detail, providing technical guidance and promoting knowledge sharing among teams.
Check & ensure the quality and accuracy of one’s own and the work of others. Responsible for the performance and development of others. This role would require the provision of guidance, training, motivation, and direction for staff.
Review, supervision, and development of technical skills within the team.
Preparation and delivery of detailed tender submissions and presentations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s degree is an advantage).
With minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.
Strong knowledge of design codes, standards, and engineering practices.
Proven experience in infrastructure projects such as tunnels, bridges, or foundations. (Candidates with experience in building projects are also encouraged to apply)
Familiar with Eurocode (European standards).
Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Proficiency with structural or geotechnical software such as Robot Structural Analysis, STAAD. Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and PLAXIS.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
Experience working in Singapore or project in Singapore will be considered an advantage.
