The successful candidate will join an established technical and regional consulting team of approximately 20 professionals based in Sydney. This team is engaged in a diverse array of Australian and international projects within the energy and renewable power sector, spanning from small-scale generation to utility-sized generation. The technologies involved include biomass, solar PV, battery energy storage, offshore wind, pumped hydro energy storage, hydrogen, and waste-to-energy (both thermal and biological). Key workstreams encompass lender technical advisory, renewable energy studies, and front-end engineering design.

The Opportunity (What will I do?):

  • Project Management: Oversee and manage projects, ensuring deadlines are met, budgets are monitored, and expenditures are controlled to meet financial targets.
  • Representation: Represent Arup at internal and external events, and design and deliver activities and projects that impact the business.
  • Team Development: Provide guidance, training, direction, and feedback to others, contributing to their performance and development.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring they are met.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply extensive knowledge and skills in the energy sector, including renewable energy technologies, to provide innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical engineering or similar area
  • Relevant industry experience in power systems, solar PV, battery energy storage, project management, project proposals, within a consulting business environment
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership
  • A good technical understanding of a range of equipment and processes used in the energy sector and key issues affecting each technology. With expertise in technical specifications of renewable energy system design, installation oversight, & commissioning
  • Enthusiasm to develop technical and commercial knowledge throughout the energy sector by working on projects in the renewables, waste & resources and utilities sectors would be advantageous.
