The Building Services (MEP) team has steadily grown over the past three years and works on iconic buildings in the Netherlands and Europe. We are active in various sectors such as stadiums, luxury hotels, offices, commercial buildings, healthcare, science and industry, and education projects. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and the chance to be involved in diverse and challenging design projects. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role within our Building Services Engineering team and contribute to multidisciplinary projects. From our office in Amsterdam, you will be part of a team of more than 20 mechanical engineering technicians.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Arup you will:

  • Contribute to all phases of projects – from feasibility to completion – in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, healthcare, education, energy, sports, commercial, and mixed-use developments
  • Help clients achieve their goals in COâ‚‚-neutrality through innovative and sustainable designs
  • Support Arup's digital transformation by exploring automation and integrated digital design solutions

This role appeals to you? We are looking for a dynamic and proactive candidate with a strong interest in teamwork and in developing a career within the MEP field.

We also value:

  • A diploma from a technical university (Architecture / Mechanical Engineering / Energy / other relevant direction) or a suitable technical degree
  • 2–5 years of experience in designing and realizing mechanical installations
  • Experience in designing mechanical building installations for medium to large-scale projects, including calculations and reports
  • Knowledge of low or zero-emission technologies
  • Proficiency in BIM environments, particularly Revit, and experience with CAD
  • Enthusiasm for working on diverse projects and sectors, and sufficient experience to mentor junior team members
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Good command of English and Dutch languages, both spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Interest in sustainability
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
