Instructional Support Liaison

The Instructional Support Liaison provides homework help and tutorial support to residents. This position will provide leadership, mentoring, and tutorial services to residents in a supportive atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain an environment conducive to completing academic assignments within the residential program for residents within the scope of administrative policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and manage resident behavior, while providing a consistent and reliable supportive environment for residents.
  • Assist in homework completion, academic task completion as assigned by the resident's school, and provide tutorial support to residents.
  • Provide a stimulating and motivating environment to residents struggling to complete assigned academic work.
  • Assist in the timely completion of behavioral notes, documenting resident progress and other required paperwork.
  • Work with residents to create a long-range plan for assigned projects, and long-term homework assignments to ensure completion.
  • Participate as an active member of the Treatment Team. Communicates all appropriate information regarding resident progress both orally and in writing.
  • Utilize program approved interventions and approaches when working with residents.
  • Maintain consistent expectations for academic work completion within the residential program.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment, providing crisis intervention when needed.
  • Provide consistent communication regarding academic progress to the Case Manager and/or administration.
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
  • May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Development, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children and families, preferably in a school setting.
