The primary responsibility of the Behavior Support Specialist is to provide family oriented, individual and/or group rehabilitative mental health services, skills training and development, medication training, parenting skills training, and intensive case management and support services to clients of the agency per state specified standards and requirements. The Behavior Support Specialist is responsible for the direct provision of in-home and community-based rehabilitation and support services to participating youth and families. These services are typically provided to consumers in their homes, communities and/or program sites.

Treatment Foster Care (Texas) - Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, mental health or another related human services field and at least one (1) year of previous experience working with youth in a mental health setting preferred. High school diploma or GED with at least five (5) years of previous experience working with youth in a mental health setting may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
Community-Based Services (Texas) – Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, mental health or another related human services field and at least one (1) year of previous experience working with youth in a mental health setting. Master's Degree preferred.
