Cat Technology's Autonomy and Automation division is currently seeking a Mining Technology Engineering Design Engineer for Caterpillar Mining Safety Systems primarily responsible for Collision Awareness/Avoidance Systems (CAS). As the design engineer, you will be responsible for deliverables in new product development, continuous product improvement, new technology development for the CAS technical team and manage a 3rd party developer.
The incumbent must have strong technical and analytical skills, good communication and project management skills, a broad technical knowledge base, and strong engineering judgement. The engineer must be able to build relationships and partnerships with product support, commercial, and strategy teams, process owners and customers to provide exceptional service.
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Proven new design execution, technical experience, and intellectual curiosity
Working knowledge with Collision Awareness/Avoidance Systems Technology
Knowledge of Minesite operations
Software and Systems Development knowledge
This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Tucson, AZ office.
Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
This position may require up to 15% travel.

Summary Pay Range: $110,520.00 – $165,840.00
