Data Center Engineer

Job Posting

Rack, stack, and cable Cisco network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls) and UCS Systems in a data center environment

Install and label copper and fiber cabling according to data center standards

Perform hardware turn-ups, including power-on, port verification, and basic connectivity testing

Follow detailed network diagrams, rack elevations, and installation documentation

Assist with equipment moves, adds, and changes (MACs)

Maintain accurate cable management, labeling, and documentation

Coordinate with Network Engineers and Data Center Engineers during installs and upgrades

Troubleshoot basic physical-layer issues (power, cabling, link lights)

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of experience as a Data Center Engineer

Experience with Racking, Stacking Cabling

Experience with low voltage cabling

Knowledge of data copper (Cat5/5E/6) and fiber optic cabling standards

Experience with CISCO network equipment (switches, routers)

Understanding of A/B power and network redundancy concepts
