The Senior Marketing Strategy Support Consultant drives operational excellence and strategic decision-making through the management of marketing processes, programs and technology. This role ensures effective process optimization, the adoption of tools and data-driven insights to support global marketing initiatives. You will serve as a key collaborator of the Director of Marketing, leveraging technology, analytics, and strategic thinking to improve marketing performance and align initiatives with business goals. You ensure that marketing investments are not only aligned but deliver on our commitment to customers and the organization through budget and results analysis. You are able to package strategies, initiatives and outcomes into presentable formats for diverse internal audiences. You are a natural problem-solver who uses your curious nature to dig-in to find answers and then take the next steps to implement optimal solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Process Management
- Lead medium to large-scale marketing projects with moderate to high complexity.
- Streamline workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Develop governance frameworks and best practices for global adoption.
Technology Administration
- Own and manage martech platforms (Workfront for team collaboration and project management; Allocadia for budget management and strategic investment reporting), integrations, and automation.
- Ensure data quality related to program, process and budget management (not traditional lead generation) and optimal utilization of tools to improve marketing performance.
- Maintain marketing technology specific to team process and programs (not traditional lead generation) roadmap aligned with enterprise initiatives.
- Seek out and train on new opportunities for team productivity gains, notably AI.
Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze individual and team performance through key metrics and provide actionable insights. Use of Power BI and intermediate or advanced Excel is key.
- Manage budget reporting including monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation of the team budget. You are comfortable with Allocadia/Uptempo or similar).
- Deliver recommendations to optimize marketing investments and ROI.
Strategy & Innovation
- Evaluate marketing strategies and identify opportunities for increased impact.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, AI-driven solutions, and industry trends.
- Recommend innovative approaches to improve marketing effectiveness.
- Support the director in communicating marketing messages to multiple audiences.
Training & Adoption
- Promote best practices; deliver training sessions (in-person and virtual) to teams.
- Develop clear documentation and onboarding materials for tools and processes.

What skills you will have:
- Technical Expertise: Experience in marketing operations, technology, and project management. Proficiency in marketing tech platforms (Workfront, Allocadia or similar), analytics tools (Salesforce, Power BI, Excel), strategic budget management, and process automation. Strong background in workflow optimization.
- Effective Communication: Excellent ability to explain complex concepts clearly and manage global stakeholders.
- Creativity: Familiarity with AI-driven marketing solutions and emerging technologies. Ability to identify opportunities to use innovative solutions to improve operational efficiencies.
- Industry Knowledge: Mining industry experience preferred; understanding of the Caterpillar distribution model highly desired.
- Top Candidates will also have: Knowledge of Agile, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field.
The primary work location for this role is Tucson, AZ, with a requirement to work on-site full-time at a Caterpillar facility. Domestic relocation assistance is available. This position may require up to 10 – 20 % travel. Visa sponsorship, international assignments, or payroll transfers are not available for this role. Summary Pay Range: $126,000.00 - $189,000.00. Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
