Preschool Cook / Classroom Support

Are you someone who enjoys preparing healthy meals for children and working in a small, supportive preschool environment? We are seeking a Preschool Cook / Classroom Support to join our early learning center serving fewer than 30 children. In this role, you’ll manage daily food service operations and provide light classroom coverage during lunch and staff breaks (about 2 hours per day). This is a non-teaching role with predictable hours and no evenings or weekends.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks following DHS guidelines
• Plan rotating menus with the Director
• Order food, manage inventory, and follow a food budget
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen
• Safely operate standard kitchen equipment
• Support the classroom during lunch and break periods

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 1 year of cooking experience (child care or institutional preferred)
• Experience preparing meals for children
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and nutrition
• Reliable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a small-group setting
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Required Certifications & Clearances:

• Maricopa County Food Handler Card
• Food Manager Card (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
• Valid First Aid and Infant & Child CPR Class
• One Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Negative TB test
• Must be 20 years of age or older
