Operations Engineer

Wells Fargo is seeking an Operations Engineer to join the Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) organization. This role supports day-to-day operations across infrastructure with a focus on reliability, monitoring, and incident response. As part of the Business Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function, this role contributes to the stability and performance of business-critical systems through hands-on support, automation, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will:

• Work on complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high-level systems consultation for the technology teams
• Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area
• Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
• Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements
• Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives
• Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor infrastructure health and respond to alerts and performance issues
• Execute patching, upgrades, and configuration changes under guidance
• Participate in root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
• Maintain compliance with operational standards and controls
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the operations team

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Infrastructure domains, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
• 3+ years of experience managing production support
• 3+ years of experience supporting production environments and responding to incidents
• 2+ years experience of infrastructure platforms such as Unix, Linux, Windows, VMware, OpenShift, Database, Network or Storage

Desired Qualifications:

• 2+ years working in production support within a Financial Institution or related industry
• Exposure to SRE principles and operational metrics (SLIs/SLOs)
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus)
• Basic scripting or automation experience (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible)
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

Pay Range: $41.83 - $80.77
