This Field Service Technician opportunity would see you supporting a leading medical device manufacturer's field service needs. You will be responsible for traveling nationally to install software updates, replace hardware and complete other services as needed for a medical device used in critical care settings in hospitals across the United States. This is a 100% travel position in which you will be traveling on average 2-4 weeks a month. Responsibilities include: providing ongoing communication and customer support to on-site hospital staff, organizing, evaluating, and updating medical devices, removing and installing hardware as needed, completing work order documentation and providing the customer's service reports daily while maintaining exact standards of product support quality documentation, collaborating with a scheduling team while also establishing facility contacts and coordinating your service visits as needed. Requires travel locally, regionally, and nationally. Assignment-based schedule averaging 30 hours weekly, Monday through Friday availability required. Complete other duties at the discretion of management. Duties may require compliance with client requirements that all those performing services on-site be fully vaccinated including Covid-19.
Job Requirements: Associate degree, or equivalent military training programs, or 3-5 years' experience of equivalent biomedical or technical field service experience preferred. Minimum of 1 year of technical experience (software and hardware) or equivalent technical education certification or degree. Quality-minded work ethic with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions required. Professional business acumen and effective communication skills required. Self-motivated individual who can work independently while maintaining virtual communications with support teams required. Strong time management and organizational skills to ensure on-time completion of project assignments. An active and unrestricted driver license, and a reliable personal vehicle for local work-related assignments are both required. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and lift to fifty pounds, required. Ability to clear hospital vendor credentialing requirements, including providing proof of vaccination status is required. Must be within 45 minutes of an international or major airport. Candidates within thirty miles of major airport preferred. Weekly travel required.
Beneficial Qualifications: Background in biomedical, networking, military, or field-based technician roles. Experience working in a technical role within a healthcare environment. Experience self-scheduling service appointments while planning travel cost efficient routes. Strong computer skills and comfort with navigating Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and OneNote.
