Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the interior and secondary structure modification of aircraft through the creation of necessary documentation, including detail, assembly, and installation drawings, specification documents, and substantiation reports. The role requires coordination with various stakeholders to ensure successful design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all necessary documents to support the interior and secondary structure modification of aircraft.
  • Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments, and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components.
  • Research specifications for component selection and coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met.
  • Assist in creating statements of work and bids for new customer requests.
  • Support service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving build/modification and test issues.
  • Create deviation drawings as required.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a minimum of five years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation.
  • Proficiency in creating mechanical drawings using CATIA.
  • Working knowledge of integration of ECS systems, waste and potable water systems, and other commodities associated with interior installations.
  • Understanding of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA).
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Effective communication of design intent and resolution.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a dynamic team environment, requiring collaboration with various departments and external suppliers. The role includes the use of advanced design software and requires a strong understanding of regulatory standards.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Tucson, AZ.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
