Manufacturing Engineer

This position is responsible for maintaining and improving fabrication, processing, and assembly methods and procedures involved in the manufacturing of lasers and laser material processing systems. Candidates must be familiar with a wide range of fabrication and processing methods and equipment, be able to work independently, and balance workload among multiple priorities. Will travel to client sites up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Continuously monitor and analyze manufacturing process flows for opportunities to improve quality, decrease cycle-time, and reduce cost of all products.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to develop, document, and implement fabrication, processing, and assembly methods needed for new product introduction.
  • Champion elimination of rework and scrap in manufacturing process.
  • Collaborate with our material suppliers to help them develop their capacity to provide quality parts in a timely manner.
  • Plan and develop optimal CNC programs for all materials produced by our in-house machining department.
  • Develop and deploy effective training material to train production staff in optimal manufacturing methods and standard operating procedures.
  • Drive the identification and correction of product design issues on the production floor.
  • Implement Engineering Change Orders on the production floor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering from an ABET-accredited university + 5-10 years of previous experience in a production engineering environment.
  • Process and work instructions in a fabrication environment 5+ years.
  • Developing and delivering effective training 1+ years.
  • Mechanical design experience (preferably with SolidWorks) 1+ year.
  • Supply chain and vendor management experience 3+ years.
  • Quality and compliance experience 2+ years.
  • Manufacturing optimization techniques (ie, automation, robotics, lean, analytics, continuous improvement, etc) 4+ years.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $150,000.00/yr. Offers a benefits package that includes fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees. TBD on 401k, the company does provide production bonuses and other perks.

Workplace Type:

This is a fully onsite position in Scottsdale, AZ.
