Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer's site. We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Avondale, AZ. We offer sign-on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits! Will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted
  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Qualifications:

  • Maintain DOT compliance
  • Ability to obtain DOT Medical Clearance
  • Nights, some weekends, and on-call
  • Occasional out of state travel

DOT:

  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • 3 years driving experience
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
  • This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Locally valid driving permit

Experience:

  • Basic level field service work experience
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
  • Customer service experience

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
